Sound Foundations is a literacy curriculum that can be used by teachers, parents or teaching assistants to teach phonological awareness to preliterate children. The program focuses exclusively on phoneme identity (i.e., different words can start and end with the same sound).
The Sound Foundations program has not yet been thoroughly reviewed by PPN, but preliminary review suggests it may be effective at improving outcomes for the indicators listed above.
