Project EX is an eight-session school-based smoking cessation program for adolescents. The program operates through clinic groups of 8 to 15 students. Program sessions involve a variety of activities and to teach students strategies for coping with stress, dealing with nicotine withdrawal, and avoiding relapses, such as games and teaching techniques for self-control and mood management.
The Project EX program has not yet been thoroughly reviewed by PPN, but preliminary review suggests it may be effective at improving outcomes for the indicators listed above.
