The Community of Caring program aims to strengthen the decision-making skills that young people need to avoid the destructive behaviors including early sexual involvement, teen pregnancy, substance abuse, delinquent behavior, and dropping out of school. The K-12 character education program contains eight essential components, including training and support, a facilitator, a coordinating committee, a comprehensive action plan, values across the curriculum, student forums, family and community involvement, and community service.
