Effective State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) Policy
Top experts from around the country share research and practice knowledge related to federal and state SCHIP policy. This forum was hosted by the Promising Practices Network and Kansas Action for Children in Kansas City, Missouri on June 5, 2007.
The State Children's Health Insurance Program, or SCHIP, provides health insurance coverage for millions of low-income children not covered by Medicaid through a federal and state partnership. As SCHIP celebrates it 10th anniversary, it is now up for federal reauthorization as well as being subject to legislative changes in numerous states. This Policy Forum brings together leading experts from around the nation to share lessons from SCHIP's first 10 years in the areas of research, policy, and implementation.
